  • Settlement: Women’s Circle

    Join us for the spring and summer editions of our women’s circle! In these two-hour sessions, participants will take part in facilitated group discussions to support career and personal growth.

    Aimed at newcomers who identify as women, this supportive community aims to empower, inspire and connect participants.

    Settlement: Conversation Circles

    Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1-3 pm at the CNH Annex

    CNH’s settlement team is excited to offer ongoing conversation circles for PR cardholders! Join us twice a week at the CNH Annex for an opportunity to practice English language skills in conversations hosted by LINC.

    Income Tax Clinic

    Feb. 24 to April 30, 2024 at the CNH Joyce and the CNH Annex

    Our annual income tax clinic will be available from Feb. 24 to April 29, 2024. Book an appointment today and our volunteers will be able to assist with your taxes. Drop-offs are also accepted.

    Please note that this year’s tax deadline is Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

    Services provided through the tax income clinic are free. However, donations are always appreciated. The income tax program is volunteer-coordinated and operated.

    Files dropped off after April 30 will still be processed but there are no guarantees that it will be filed by April 30. (This only impacts clients expecting to owe taxes.)

    Booking an appointment

    Registration for all appointments is required.

    What to bring:

    • Government-issued photo ID (passport, BC ID or BC driver’s license)
    • All T-slips; if any are missing, please inform the volunteer or note on the intake form
    • Copy of your prior year (i.e. 2022) tax return, if applicable
    • A copy of your prior year’s notice of assessment/reassessment (letter you get from the CRA after you filed your taxes), if applicable

    To cancel your appointment, you can do it online or call 604-428-9142. Note: if you are exhibiting any flu or cold-like and not feeling well before the appointment, please cancel and re-book your appointment and refrain from entering the clinic.

    Additional Information

    The tax clinic is available to support all folks who need assistance with filing their taxes. However, we especially encourage those with the following backgrounds and/or experiences to book an appointment:

    • Seniors (pensioners)
    • Indigenous peoples
    • Fixed-income earners
    • Social assistance recipients
    • People experiencing housing insecurity (BC Housing)
    • Folks with (dis)abilities
    • Youth (generally 16 and over)

    Seniors: Musical Mingle (55+)

    Fridays from 3 to 4 pm at CNH Joyce

    Make music and make friends! Sing for fun with our volunteer song leader on the ukulele. Feel free to bring your own instrument. Don’t be shy – just have fun! All abilities welcome. Drop-in. Free with seniors membership.
