    Income Tax Clinic

    February 28 to may 2, 2026 at the CNH Joyce and the CNH Annex

    Our annual income tax clinic will be available from February 28 to May 2, 2026. Book an appointment today and our volunteers will be able to assist with your taxes. Drop-offs are also accepted.

    Please note that this year’s tax deadline is Wednesday, April 30, 2026.

    Services provided through the tax income clinic are free. However, donations are always appreciated. The income tax program is volunteer-coordinated and operated.

    Files dropped off after April 30 will still be processed but there are no guarantees that it will be filed by April 30. (This only impacts clients expecting to owe taxes.)

    Please note that pick-up will be at the same location as the drop-off.

    Booking an appointment

    Registration for all appointments is required.

    What to bring:

    • Government-issued photo ID (passport, BC ID or BC driver’s license)
    • All T-slips; if any are missing, please inform the volunteer or note on the intake form
    • Copy of your prior year (i.e. 2025) tax return, if applicable
    • A copy of your prior year’s notice of assessment/reassessment (letter you get from the CRA after you filed your taxes), if applicable

    To cancel your appointment, you can do it online or call 604-428-9142. Note: if you are exhibiting any flu or cold-like and not feeling well before the appointment, please cancel and re-book your appointment and refrain from entering the clinic.

    Additional Information

    The tax clinic is available to support all folks who need assistance with filing their taxes. However, we especially encourage those with the following backgrounds and/or experiences to book an appointment:

    • Seniors (pensioners)
    • Indigenous peoples
    • Fixed-income earners
    • Social assistance recipients
    • People experiencing housing insecurity (BC Housing)
    • Folks with disabilities
    • Youth (generally 16 and over)

    Settlement: Language Enhanced Employment Program (LEEP)

    Join us for this four-week program to learn employment language skills! Individuals with intermediate or higher English language skills are invited to join our Language Enhanced Employment Program (LEEP) from February 2-27 from 9am-12pm at CNH. Program topics will include workplace communication, workplace culture, employment law, job search, resume writing, and interview skills preparation.

    Folks are eligible if they’re a:

    • Work Permit Holder
    • Study Permit Holder
    • Naturalized Canadian Citizen
    • Refugee Claimant
    • Canada-Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) Visa Holder
    • BC Provincial Nominees or BCPNP Entrepeneur
    • Permanent Resident
    • Protected People

  • Recreation: Strength and Stretch

    Recreation: Strength and Stretch

    Join us for Strength and Stretch to feel stronger, move better, and live more vibrantly! This class uses light weights, resistance bands, chairs, and mats to safely build your strength and flexibility, making it inclusive for every body and capacity. This class is perfect for all fitness levels.

    Led by Robbie Anchant. Max. 20 people per session (min. 8).

    Dates & Location

    Mondays from 11:45am-12:45pm at the CNH Multipurpose Room. No classes on January 26 and February 16 and other statutory holidays.

  • Make Your Move

    Make Your Move

    Make Your Move is a weekly free program designed to create an open and supportive space for dancers of all levels to explore movement freely. The space is flexible—participants are welcome to dance, train, or simply move in ways that feel good to them.

    Each session may include optional creative prompts or guided movement exercises, depending on the energy and interest of the group.

    Reading Circle: White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo

    Come and join a three-part reading circle focused on White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo.

    This series is a chance to reflect, engage in meaningful dialogue, and explore how race and racism impact our communities. Together, we’ll read selected passages and hold space for conversation, centring BIPOC perspectives and experiences.

    • 📍 Location: CNH Main House at the Staff Lunchroom (if raining) / Rooftop Garden (if weather permits)
    • 🗓 Dates: Thursdays, 2–4 PM, on Sept 4th, 11th, and 18th.
    • ☕ We can provide you with a copy of the book for the Reading Circle. We will also be offering coffee, tea, and snacks during our sessions!

    Open to all CNH community members and staff. We have limited spots, so register quickly if you’re interested! We would love to have you join us in creating a space of learning, listening, and mutual respect.

    Community Lunch is back for one day on Tuesday, Sept. 16. In collaboration with Farm-to-Plate Marketplace, we are serving coconut curry rice with your choice of chicken or tofu. 🥥🍛

    Come share a meal and enjoy some social time with the CNH community!
