RISE Community Health Centre Manager – Full-Time, Permanent (#HC01-26-04)

Collingwood Neighbourhood House (CNH) is a not-for-profit Society serving the Renfrew-Collingwood (RC) neighbourhood of East Vancouver. CNH’s mandate is to promote the well-being of the Renfrew-Collingwood community by providing leadership and working collaboratively with individuals, families, agencies and other groups to develop and support inclusive, innovative, sustainable initiatives and services that respond to the community’s social, educational, economic, health, cultural, and recreational needs.

RISE Community Health Centre (CHC) is a department of CNH and is funded by the Ministry of Health. RISE CHC supports the health and well-being of Renfrew-Collingwood residents by offering community-based primary care and health promotion services. Populations of focus include Newcomers, LGBTQ2SIA+, Indigenous, Isolated Seniors, Youth, people experiencing Homelessness, those working in the Sex Trade, and those experiencing Mental Health and Substance Use issues. Services are delivered by a diverse interdisciplinary team, working in partnership with other Collingwood Neighbourhood House departments and partnering agencies.

JOB OVERVIEW We are seeking a Community Health Centre (CHC) Manager join the RISE Community Health Centre Team at CNH. The position is responsible for the following domains of CHC operations: Leadership and Human Resources, Administrative Oversight and Quality Improvement, Facilities Coordination, Financial Oversight, Records and Reporting, Communications, and Data Systems. 

The CHC Manager domains of responsibility include:

  • Leadership and Human Resources: ensure adequate staffing and provide supervision of all non-management RISE CHC Primary Care Clinic staff
  • Administrative Oversight and Quality Improvement: as part of the CHC leadership team, coordinate CHC service delivery and quality improvement initiatives
  • Facilities Coordination: ensure the clinic premises is safe, equipment and supplies are adequate
  • Financial Oversight:  work with Director to create and manage budget
  • Records and Reporting:  Provide statistical reports for funders, ERM queries, prepare records, and oversee MSP billing
  • Communication and Data systems:  coordinate with IT, phone, internet, efax, EMR and online systems to ensure systems are functional and efficient

The Manager works with the RISE CHC leadership team in the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures, administrative workflow and systems of the CHC, to ensure high quality patient care in alignment with the CHC mandate. This position reports to the RISE CHC Director.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from a Medical Office Assistant program or a medical degree
  • 3 or more years of experience working as a MOA in a community-based primary health care setting
  • 2 or more year(s) of experience in a supervisory role
  • Excellent people and customer service skills
  • An egalitarian philosophy and non-judgmental attitude (i.e. gender, culture, age, race, sexual orientation, language, ability and more)
  • Previous experience working with culturally and economically diverse populations and marginalized communities
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary, culturally diverse teams
  • Experience applying strategies or practices to address social determinants of health and health inequity
  • Excellent organization, planning and computer skills
  • Experience running EMR queries for data collection and analysis
  • Experience developing policies and procedures, and implementing quality improvement processes

ASSETS

  • Additional languages relevant to the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood
  • Experience working in a non-profit Community Health Centre setting
  • Experience with OSCAR EMR

JOB DETAILS

  • Salary range: $41.30 per hour to start with progression
    • Paid vacation starting at 2 weeks per year plus paid sick days

  • Schedule: 35 hours/week, 8:30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday
