Build relationships and capacities through this six-week summer program!
Pre-teens aged 10 to 14 who identify as newcomers, permanent residents or refugees are invited to join this free 6-week program to learn the guitar! Sessions take place Tuesdays from July 4 to August 8 at Collingwood Neighbourhood House (CNH).
Funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
Through playful and dynamic embodiment activities this workshop will provide a safe space to explore movement and its creative metaphors!
Participants will play with their ever-changing bodies, tapping into their inherent intuitive movement; giving space for it to be recognized, witnessed and embraced. The session will incorporate an opening circle; grounding exercises; movement exploration tasks incorporating visualization and imagery; group connection; and debrief circle.

With an emphasis on exploring materials and growing connections, join us for an introduction to art therapy at CNH Annex’s art studio.
No previous experience is required, just bring your enthusiasm and creativity! Cari will offer an art invitation and guidance throughout the 2-hour session, or let the materials guide you. The group will close with a gallery walk and an opportunity to share about your piece; however, participation in the group discussion is optional.
Art therapy is all about the process of creative expression, reflection, and building connections, so leave your internal art critic at home and celebrate the surprises and possibilities of artmaking!
