Collingwood Neighbourhood House (CNH) is accepting nominations for our Board of Directors! Learn more about our board and who we’re looking for below. Applications are due by Friday, May 15, 2026.
About our board
The Board of Directors provides CNH with direction by establishing policies, priorities, long-term plans and renewal for the CNH Society. It approves the annual budget and provides accountability to the members and funders through an annual external audit.
Board members also approve programs and services, goals and objectives, and ensure that these are implemented, monitored, and evaluated. The board develops external relations, receives input from members and the community, and works on the development of community resources. Directors, who all live and/or work in Renfrew-Collingwood, sometimes represent CNH at community meetings.
Who we’re looking for
This is an exciting time to join the board of such a vibrant organization. We are looking for people who:
- Live and/or work in Renfrew-Collingwood
- Can commit to a minimum of a one-year term, starting September 2026
- Can commit 8-10 hours per month on board-related work
- Have a broad understanding of the neighbourhood
- Have a strong commitment to becoming engaged in improving all aspects of our neighbourhood
- Can bring expertise and perspectives that increase our organization’s capacity to be equitable and inclusive
We have a very diverse board to represent our neighbourhood. At this time, we have a few perspectives that are desirable to be reflected on the board:
- Residents: youth (aged 16-24), and/or adults over 55, who are passionate about improving their community
- Those who have experience in fundraising, and/or management of community programs and services
- Artists of various disciplines
- Those with relevant lived experience or who are representative of a historically marginalized group
