Collingwood Neighbourhood House (CNH) is a not-for-profit Society serving the Renfrew-Collingwood (RC) neighbourhood of East Vancouver. CNH’s mandate is to promote the well-being of the Renfrew-Collingwood community by providing leadership and working collaboratively with individuals, families, agencies and other groups to develop and support inclusive, innovative, sustainable initiatives and services that respond to the community’s social, educational, economic, health, cultural and recreational needs.

RISE is a community-based CHC that is part of the Primary Care Network strategy and funded by the Ministry of Health. RISE CHC and RISE CHC Pharmacy support the health and well-being of Renfrew-Collingwood residents who are facing barriers to achieving health by offering community-based primary care and health promotion services. Populations of focus include Newcomers, LGBTQ2S+, Indigenous, Isolated Seniors, Youth, people experiencing Homelessness, those working in the Sex Trade, and those experiencing Mental Health and Substance Use issues. Services are delivered by a diverse interdisciplinary team, working in partnership with other Collingwood Neighbourhood House departments and partnering agencies.

Job Overview

We are seeking a casual staff pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team. The RISE CHC Pharmacy is a non-profit pharmacy dispensary. The staff pharmacist will dispense medications and provide direct client care regarding pharmaceutical related questions, concerns, education, guidelines, policies, and treatment.

Skills and Qualifications

• Current registration as a Pharmacist with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
• Completion of Opioid Agonist Therapy Compliance and Management Program For Pharmacy
• Injection-certified by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
• Two (2) years’ recent, relevant retail pharmacy experience, ideally in a team-based primary care setting or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Minimum 4 months experience with WinRx within the past year
• Completion of Pharmacist Prescribing for Minor Ailments and Contraception: Regulatory Education Module and experience in pharmacist prescribing
• Ability to integrate best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions
• Demonstrates commitment to the concepts underpinning the unique role of Community Health Centres and a desire to collaboratively contribute to this CHC’s vision, mission and values
• Demonstrates a high level of clinical skill and competence working with socially complex clients
• An egalitarian philosophy and non-judgmental attitude (i.e. gender, culture, race, sexual orientation, language, ability and more)
• Previous experience providing culturally safe, trauma informed care to marginalized populations
• Experience working with interdisciplinary, culturally diverse teams and experience working independently in a community pharmacy
• Experience applying strategies or practices to address social determinants of health and health inequity
• Ability to deal effectively with conflict situations, manage challenging behavior, and use non-violent crisis intervention and behavioral management techniques
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19

Additional Assets Include:

• Fluency in identified non-official languages based on neighbourhood demographics
• Experience with OSCAR Electronic Medical Records

Job Details

Salary: $48.34 – $60.29/hour + 10.6% in lieu of benefits, vacation, sick leave

Schedule: Casual (On call)
Shifts can be Monday – Fridays between 9:30am – 5:30pm or 4-hour shifts during this time
Saturdays between 9:00am – 3:00pm
CLOSED Sundays and Stat Holidays

Casual Staff Pharmacist must be able to work at least 1 shift per week between mid-October and mid-December and 1-2 shifts per week in March 2025.
