Seniors Shuttle: Frequently Asked Questions
The Seniors Shuttle is a door-to-door service helping seniors (aged 55+) go where they need to in the community (i.e. medical appointments, grocery shopping, errands). This service is offered through the Renfrew-Collingwood Better at Home program and is based on a sliding scale from $0-10.
Medical appointments have first priority with our first pickup at 9:15 am and our last drop-off at 1:30 pm. The shuttle operates on Thursdays and Fridays.
Below you’ll find answers to the questions we get asked the most about our shuttle. If you do not find your question below, please contact us by calling 604-435-0375 or emailing dsingh@cnh.bc.ca.

How far do you go? The shuttle generally travels 10-15 minutes outside of Renfrew-Collingwood. We do not travel to the downtown core, North Vancouver, East Hastings, the North Shore, and other areas further out. Common destinations include Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), Burnaby General Hospital (BGH), nearby grocery stores, and neighbourhood banks. It also depends what bookings we may have for the day.
Can the driver help with my groceries? The shuttle driver can help you carry your groceries in and out of the vehicle, and to the door of your house.
Can I receive extra support with the shuttle service? If you give the driver enough notice, we can have volunteers assist you in grocery shopping or helping you walk out of the vehicle to your medical appointment.
How much notice do we have to give the driver to schedule a ride? We ask that you give the driver as much notice as possible. The sooner you book, the more likely we can accommodate your trip.
Can you drive me to my regular scheduled appointment every week? If you have an appointment scheduled every week, we ask that you contact HandyDART to drive you. To sign up for HandyDART service, call: 778-452-2860.
