  • Volunteer Position: Grocery Program Driver
  • Name of Program: Grocery Shopping Program

Program Description

Join the Grocery Shopping Program at Collingwood Neighbourhood House (CNH) and start making a difference in the lives of vulnerable seniors in your community. Every Wednesday between 10am to 2pm, drivers will pick up pre-packaged grocery orders at the Grandview Save on Foods and deliver the orders to seniors in the Renfrew-Collingwood Neighbourhood. With your help, isolated and mobility restricted seniors can stay in their homes independently while receiving grocery deliveries.

This is a wonderful opportunity to interact with the community and to learn about food security, older adults/seniors, and to provide valuable community outreach and support. This role is a great fit for anybody of any age, whether you’re a young person looking to help and learn about issues facing seniors, or an older adult yourself looking to give back and help others in your time off or retirement.

Additional Details: Basic registration forms and emailing required. Bonus: We reimburse your mileage for delivery driving at 0.70 cents a kilometer, and we can provide you with a code to apply for a free, online criminal record check! Additionally, if you don’t have regular access to a car, we can put you on our MODO carshare account with no cost to you!
