Wild Food & Medicine Workshop

This event takes place on unceded and occupied Coast Salish territory, specifically that of the Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Join facilitator Bo Del Valle Garcia in a day long immersion into herbalism, foraging, medicine making, and mushroom cultivation. As part of this workshop we will venture into the wild spaces of Norquay Food Forest to get to know the plants and fungi growing in our community. We will then learn how to craft medicines such as teas, vinegars, salves and tinctures. We will also discuss mushrooms, how to cultivate them, as well as their medicinal properties.

Bo Del Valle Garcia is the founder of Tangled Roots Nature Connection, a a school for permaculture and wild skills. Bo is a neurodivergent, queer, gender non-conforming, white settler, tender hearted, wilder punk, femme. After seeking more formal education and finishing a BSc in environmental sciences they dove deeper into all that the natural world had to teach them. They now focus on creating spaces where others can also connect to the natural world and learn a bunch of skills while doing so.
