Online Art Series: Lunar New Year Traditions
What is Lunar New Year and how is it traditionally celebrated? Join Kristy Yee and Winnie Woo for a conversation about the traditions and importance of celebrating the Lunar New Year.
Kristy is a Registered Dietician and the co-host of the “Sh#t We Don’t Tell Mom” podcast. Born and raised in Vancouver, her family originally came from the Canton province of China, some coming as early as the late 1800s and early 1900s. Winnie also grew up in East Vancouver and was raised by parents who had immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in the 1980s. In her spare time, she runs the Instagram account “Born Chinese”, where she shares relatable content about Chinese culture and identity. Both advocate for pride in their heritage and encourage others to be proud of their culture and identity.
